Love and Your Health

We were built to love one another. One of my favorite podcast–the Minimalists–has a book coming out titled Love Things, Use People, which is how we’re supposed to be living. Unfortunately, we live in a culture obsessed with loving things and using people, but to really be happy in life, we need to love people.

Keep in mind that I’m not talking about romantic love. While being in a healthy, romantic relationship is wonderful, it isn’t the only kind of love available to us. Our friends, family, community, and animals can provide us with love and connection, which are necessary to our personal fulfilment.

What does that have to do with your health? Happier people are healthier, because they stress less, sleep better, and make healthier choices for their bodies. To be really healthy, you have to be happy, and to be happy you need love!
