Love Your Body – Reader Survey Results

I want to end the year with a FREE 90 Day Love Your Body Challenge, but I wanted to get some insight into the help women need to really learn to love their bodies. Here’s what the lovely ladies who responded had to say.

What is your relationship to food?

Surprisingly, most people choose the other option or the “I love to eat!” option. The other responses included the following comments:

  • Thinking about a migraine diet
  • I have to eat at times even when I don’t want to. My insulin intake dictates that.
  • Most of the time it’s fuel for my body, but go through craving spells.
  • 1 (I fuel my body with food), 2 (I love to eat!), and 3 (I eat what I crave and then feel guilty) and also attempt to balance macros

18.5% said they fuel their body with food. I was thrilled to see that so many women either love food or fuel their bodies with food, because those two things together are the basis for a healthy relationship with food.

Do you have cravings?

The majority of the women who participated craved sweets. We had a few respondents who have multiple cravings:

  • Salty treats and carbs. Lots of carbs. I love carbs.
  • Sweets, salty treats, and carbs.

I can relate! A big part of my health journey has been (1) learning about why I have cravings and (2) learning what I can do about them. I’m so excited to share that experience with challenge participants.


Do you love your body?

It made me really sad that not one person loves her body, because that’s my mission in life. I want women to love their bodies. Of course, it didn’t surprise me. If women loved their bodies, I wouldn’t have this mission. The “other” respondents were either indifferent to their bodies or chose multiple options.

What do you want to accomplish?

The final free form question asked participants what one thing they would want to accomplish if they had free health coaching for 90 days, which everyone who participates in the challenge will essentially get.

Reponses fit into one of these categories:

  • To manage a current health issue
  • To lose weight
  • To have better habits
  • To have more energy
  • To have better sleep

While I never focus on losing weight, I do know from experience that when we get our bodies healthy and in balance the weight loss happens. I also know from experience that those same actions can help or even eliminate chronic health issues.

The last three are the essence of creating healthy habits. Long story short… I am so excited about this challenge! I’ll be announcing details Saturday, so stay tuned!
